DE: Die rechts-autoritären Riots von 2018 sind als „die Ereignisse“ in das lokale kollektive Gedächtnis eingegangen. Der Stadtrundgang soll sich dem Verlauf der Riots, aber auch den langen Linien einer Stadtentwicklung widmen, in der Chemnitz kontinuierlich verschiedene Krisen durchlief. Dabei wird der Zustand der lokalen Zivilgesellschaft, die demographische Situation aber auch die politische Ökonomie Ostdeutschlands thematisiert. Nicht zuletzt sollen auch die (politischen) Hoffnungen debattiert werden, die sich mit dem Kulturhauptstadtjahr 2025 verbinden.
EN: The right-wing authoritarian riots of 2018 have entered the local collective memory as “the events”. The city tour is dedicated to the course of the riots, but also to the long lines of an urban development in which Chemnitz has continuously gone through various crises. The state of local civil society, the demographic situation and also the political economy of East Germany will be addressed. Last but not least, the (political) hopes associated with the Capital of Culture year 2025 will also be debated.
